Nebraska lands Virginia wide receiver transfer Billy Kemp
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Matt Rhule and his staff added another transfer on Monday night in Virginia wide receiver Billy Kemp.
Kemp, in five seasons with Virginia, caught 192 passes for 1,774 yards and eight touchdowns.
The 5-foot-9, 172-pounder initially declared for the draft before entering the portal on Dec. 30.
New Nebraska offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield spoke with reporters on Friday and said he wanted to add more depth to the receivers room.
“I think receiver is a spot that we need to build, you know,” he said. “We’ve got some good receivers. I just think that we need to build some depth there, and different types of receivers, you know. You don’t want them all to look the same and be the same. You need different types of body types and stuff.”
The Huskers have already added wideout/running back transfer Josh Fleeks from Baylor, as well as four receivers in the 2023 class including Malachi Coleman of Lincoln East.
