Nebraska NRDs to hold conference in Kearney next week


LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska natural resources districts’ annual conference is scheduled for next week in Kearney.

It will focus on water quality and groundwater management in Nebraska, along with new technologies and programs to further conservation efforts.

NRD employees and directors will meet with those involved in conservation, technology and policymaking to find ways to further current efforts and programs available.

The conference will begin Sunday with a golf tournament, and Gov. Pete Ricketts will give opening remarks Monday morning at 8:30.

Awards to recognize residents for their own conservation will be given at a luncheon Monday.

Monday evening will include a silent auction to fund youth programs and a dinner banquet where the NRDs will induct three new members into the Hall of Fame.

Tuesday will include breakout sessions and a luncheon, followed by a raffle drawing.
