Nebraska power district truck stolen; scammers may be heading to your door

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Southern Public Power District is sending a warning to customers after one of its work trucks was stolen.

Officials tell Channel 8 everyone should be extra vigilant in case the thief tries to pose as an employee, to scam people in the area.

SPPD says the truck, pictured in this article, was stolen early Monday morning in Grand Island.

If you see a similar vehicle with the plate UGD979, you’re asked to call authorities right away.

SPPD reminds everyone that its workers will never go door to door to demand payment unless you’ve been contacted by the district first.
