Nebraska records lowest unemployment rate in country
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska Department of Labor released employment data for April 2022 on Friday.
In the summary, the department recorded a 1.9% unemployment rate for the state.
Nebraska is currently tied with Utah for the lowest unemployment rate in the country, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The current national unemployment rate is 3.6%, according to the department’s summary.
Nebraska reached an all-time high of 1,040,325 workers in the state.
“We saw record-setting State revenues and our highest-ever employment in April,” said Ricketts. “These strong signs of growth reflect the creation of plentiful great-paying jobs for Nebraskans. There’s never been a better time to be a graduate looking to start a career in the Good Life.”
Nebraska currently ranks number one in labor force participation and the employment-to-population ratio, according to the press release.
