Nebraska school employee arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a child

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A school employee in western Nebraska was arrested Thursday after the state patrol launched an investigation into a reported sexual assault of a child.

The Nebraska State Patrol received information earlier this week that an employee at South Platte Public Schools had inappropriate contact with a student.

An arrest warrant was issued on Thursday for Joel Foster, 37, of Big Springs.

Foster was arrested that day without incident.

He was lodged in jail on suspicion of two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, two counts of child abuse and first-degree sexual assault by a school employee.

The investigation is ongoing.  The patrol is being assisted by the Deuel County Sheriff’s Office.
