LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska softball faces a former Big 12 rival and some in-state opponents during its 2023 season.

The Huskers announced the team’s 56-game schedule on Thursday.

Nebraska is set to open the season with some spring ball at the Houston Invitational on Feb. 10.

The Huskers will then travel to play in the TaxAct Clearwater Invitational, Troy Cox Classic, Wildcat Invitational and Jayhawk Invitational.

After those slate of away games, Nebraska will return home to Bowlin Stadium to face Iowa State before its Big Ten slate of games.

In the middle of conference play, the Creighton Bluejays will come to Lincoln to take on the Huskers.

Nebraska ends its regular season against Ohio State on May 7.

Nebraska beat Creighton, UNK, Kansas and Colorado State in its fall season.

NU is coming off a successful 2022 campaign, as Nebraska won the Big Ten championship and earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

But the Huskers’ season ended earlier than they wanted after the team succumbed to North Texas in the Stillwater Regional.

Last summer, longtime head coach Rhonda Revelle received a one-year contract extension through the 2026 season.
