Nebraska softball secures first ever Big Ten regular season title

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 3 Nebraska made history Saturday. In their game two win of a doubleheader vs. Penn State, the Huskers clinched the outright Big Ten Title. It’s the program’s first ever outright championship.
No. 3 Nebraska defeated Penn State 5-1, and 10-4 Saturday.
In game one Jordy Frahm got the win, pitching 7.0 innings, allowing just four hits and one run. Jesse Farrel recorded the only home run of the game. It was her 15th of the season. Hannah Coor went 2-4, with two RBI’s.
In game two, Nebraska struggled through most of the way, trailing 4-1 after five innings. But, the big red scored nine runs in the final two innings, to defeat the Nittany Lions 10-4.
Alexis Jensen recorded her 20th win of the season, improving to 20-2. Nebraska recorded eight hits.
The Huskers will wrap up their regular season with the series finale vs. Penn State on Sunday.
