Nebraska State Fair sees growth, despite wet start

The Nebraska State Fair saw growth in some areas, despite a difficult start due to rain.

State Fair officials say they saw growth in several areas, and strong numbers in the final days–thanks to drier weather.

Officials say the saw growth in livestock and small animal entries, significant growth in sponsorships and 4-H was represented by 10,000 entries from 93 counties.

In addition to those numbers, they saw record participation in the Truck and Tractor Pull, as well as record numbers at the Nebraska Strong Ranch Rodeo.

The fair had 12 concerts, and added fireworks this year.

Fair attendees also got to see the first polo match in fair history, and a performance by the University of Nebraska Marching Band.

The full report on numbers will be prepared and audited by October 1st.
