The Nebraska State Fair will go on this year, but with limited events and attractions.

The State Fair Board voted unanimously Tuesday morning to focus the fair on 4-H and FFA livestock programs.

Executive Director Bill Ogg said a traditional fair was not an option this year due to COVID-19, and that the scaled-down version was the best bet.

Estimated cost for the event will be about $208,000, Ogg said.

There is a possibility of other events, like a possible carnival, being held as long as they fit within state health guidelines.

The events will likely be spread out over a two-week period, officials said.
