Nebraska State Patrol makes 16 DUI arrests over three events this summer

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) has wrapped up a summer of special enforcement campaigns regarding various county fairs and community events.

One of the most recent events included Lancaster County Fair, along with Scotts Bluff County Fair and Czech Festival in Wilber.

During the three events, troopers with the NSP made 16 arrests for driving under the influence. They also issued 99 citations for speeding, four for an open alcohol container, 16 for driving under suspension, one for a minor in possession of alcohol, two for wearing no seat belt, one for improper child restraint and one for failure to move over.

“This summer has been full of excellent celebrations and wonderful memories made in communities across our great state,” said Colonel Bryan Waugh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “As the last few weeks of summer travel continue, we urge all travelers to stay alert on the road and drive safely. County fair season is winding down, but we look forward to seeing everyone at the Nebraska State Fair in a couple weeks.”
