Nebraska State Patrol says it arrested three for DUI on St. Patrick’s Day

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska State Patrol arrested three people on suspicion of driving under the influence on St. Patrick’s Day.
Troopers also issued 66 citations for speeding, eight for having an open alcohol container and three for being a minor in possession of alcohol on Thursday.
“On St. Patrick’s Day or any other day, it’s always important to have a sober driver lined up if you’ve been drinking,” said Col. John Bolduc, superintendent of the patrol. “Alcohol plays a factor in approximately one of every three fatal crashes in Nebraska.”
The special enforcement operation was made possible in part by an $11,800 grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
