Nebraska State Penitentiary employee tests positive for COVID-19

This is the ninth NDCS employee to test positive for the virus. 

Corrections officials on Wednesday announced an employee at the Nebraska State Penitentiary has tested positive for COVID-19.

The staff member is self-isolating at home, officials said.  Those in close contact with the person have been told to self-quarantine until they can be cleared by a medical provider.

This is the ninth NDCS employee to test positive for the virus.

Corrections officials reported  Tuesday night an inmate in an Omaha facility tested positive, requiring the entire facility to quarantine.
