Nebraska Task Force One activated for flooding in Texas

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Task Force One has been activated this morning to help with the extreme flooding. They will travel to San Antonio, Texas to begin.

According to MJ Lierman, Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) Public Information Officer, 45 members of the task force were activated and had four hours to pack and leave. All members have water capabilities.

LFR is the sponsoring agency of the Nebraska Task Force One.

25 members are from LFR, along with six civilians. The civilians consist of doctors, engineers and two canine teams.

The flash flooding currently happening in Texas has resulted in one confirmed fatality and continues to leave residents in an extreme flood watch.
