Nebraska transportation seeks public review for improvement program

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –  The proposed Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for 2023-26 is now available for public review and comment.

Copies of the proposed program will be available in each of the eight district offices and online.

Nebraska Department Of Transportation

The program lists all highway and transit projects that will be using federal funds.  Significant projects using non-federal funds will also be listed.

The status of the program will be updated every October.

All citizens will be given a reasonable opportunity to comment on the program and on any proposed amendments.

The public comment period begins Tuesday and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Aug. 29.

Comments received will be incorporated into the final plan document after being approved by the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration.
