LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Executive Travel has received over $112,357 in donations that will go to help Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war.

Since last Monday, 325 donations have been given to Executive Travel’s Operation Safe Harbor, Chairman of the Board Steve Glenn said.

“The outpouring of support has been overwhelming. To each of you, I will be forever grateful and more importantly, the Ukrainian families we are helping are so very thankful,” Glenn writes.

The original goal was to provide 200 refugees with hotel rooms in Warsaw, Poland.  Now Glenn says that they are looking to find additional hotels and manpower to extend the operation.

The donations could potentially provide hotel rooms for an additional 200 refugees, according to Glenn.

“I have tears of joy writing this to you as the suffering of these people is almost too much to bear. Now is the time we need to turn our compassion into action and many of you are doing just that,” Glenn writes.

Executive Travel has also received emails from 25 people offering to go to Warsaw and help Ukrainian refugees.

Currently, two Executive Travel staff and four volunteers are in Warsaw helping Ukrainian families by providing food, clothing and hygiene products.

People wanting to donate can go to operationsafeharborukraine.com.
