Nebraska troopers find missing Utah teen, arrest 29-year-old man

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Utah man was arrested after troopers say he was found with a missing teen in his vehicle.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper spotted an eastbound vehicle driving on the shoulder of Interstate 80 near Chappell on Sunday afternoon.

The trooper pulled it over and discovered that one of the passengers was a 16-year-old girl who had been reported missing in Bountiful, Utah.

The driver – 29-year-old Viscon Duarte Lendos of Bountiful, Utah – was arrested on suspicion of child abuse.

The 16-year-old girl was placed in protective custody.

Troopers are working with the Bountiful Police Department in an ongoing investigation.
