Unemployment claims spiked once again in Nebraska, following a national trend amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state saw 24,572 claims, up nearly 9,000 from prior week, according to a Department of Labor report.

Nationwide, more than 6.6 million Americans applied for unemployment benefits last week — doubling a record high set just one week earlier, according to the Associated Press.
