Nebraska universities currently experiencing email outage right before back to school week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — University of Nebraska (NU) is experiencing a systemwide email outage across three campus. The outage is due to a current global outage affecting the security provider, Proofpoint.

The email outage comes right before the back to school week, starting on Aug. 16.

University of Nebraska at Kearney, Omaha and Lincoln and the Office of President are experiencing the outage. However, internal email within the NU System is still available.

University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is not impacted by the outage, according to NU. They said messages from other campuses to UNMC may bounce.

Proofpoint is investigation and working to resolve the issue according to NU.
