Nebraska volleyball stars on AVCA Player of the Year Preseason Watch List

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Today, Nebraska volleyball players Andi Jackson, Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly were announced to be on the America Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Year Watch List.

All three players are entering their senior year.

The players on the watch list were compiled by the AVCA Division I Women’s Volleyball Awards Committee. The committee will also be working on additional phases of the Player of the Year process. More players will be added in midseason in October, semifinalists will be announced in November and finalists will be likely announced on Dec. 14.

Jackson was named the AVCA Middle Blocker of the Year in her recent junior season. Murray earned AVCA All-American and All-Big Ten First Team for the third season straight in her junior year. Reilly was named a First-Team All-American and earned AVCA Setter of the Year, Big Ten Player of the Year and Big Ten Setter of the Year in her junior season.

The Player of the Year Watch List contains 30 players in the preseason. Jackson, Murray and Reilly were among the first announced.
