Nebraska volleyball wins first match of Brazilian tour

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska volleyball picked up the win in the Huskers’ first match of their Brazilian tour on Thursday. 

The Big Red swept Minas Tenis Clube, a U19 team, 25-8, 25-12, 25-13.

The win was a team effort led by sophomore Bekka Allick, who had 11 kills, three blocks and three aces.

Setter Kennedi Orr ran the Huskers’ offense well. She pulled off a perfect setter dump, playing in all three sets.

The Huskers were also led by the experienced 6-foot-4 junior Lindsay Krause, who stayed consistent with 10 kills and two blocks.

Sophomore Hayden Kubik posted seven kills, and Andi Jackson came to life late, with five kills in the third set. 

The Huskers are back in action on Friday at 2:30 p.m. Central against Mackenzie.
