Nebraska women’s basketball picks up road win at Purdue
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) –Nebraska women’s basketball secured a 71-64 come-from-behind win at Purdue on Wednesday night.
Alexis Markowski helped the Huskers to a lead with a dominant fourth-quarter performance.
Markowski scored 11 of her team-high 19 points and made six of her 10 rebounds in the fourth quarter alone.
Maddie Krull came off the bench to score 15 points while adding three rebounds.
And Sam Haiby posted 14 points, four rebounds and three assists while playing her most minutes of the season.
Freshman Callin Hake also made major contributions for the Huskers, adding eight points and three rebounds while making her first collegiate start in place of Krull.
Kendall Moriarty had eight big points of her own.
The Big Red’s defense allowed the Huskers to hold Purdue to just one field goal in the last six minutes of play.
The win helped Nebraska improve to 12-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
The Huskers return home on Sunday, when they take on No. 11 Maryland at 1 p.m.
