Nebraska’s Pete Ricketts sworn in to Senate

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Pete Ricketts is officially a Nebraska senator.
The former governor took the Senate floor Monday afternoon and was sworn in by Vice President Kamala Harris.
On Jan. 12, Gov. Jim Pillen picked Ricketts to fill the Senate seat left vacant by Ben Sasse.
Sasse left the position to take over as the University of Florida’s president.
Ricketts has said he will be running for the seat when it’s up for grabs in 2024.
