WINNEBAGO, Neb. (KLKN) — A new division has been created to manage and operate the expansion of casino gambling in Nebraska, after the three Game of Chance initiatives passed in the November election.

Called WarHorse Gaming, LLC, launched by Ho-Chunk, Inc., the division with partner with the Nebraska Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA) to oversee the three existing horse racing tracks in Omaha, Lincoln, and South Sioux City.

While WarHorse Gaming is responsible for overall gaming operations, HBPA will continue to handle all horse racing operations.

They have begun outlining a timeline, with WarHouse management anticipating some expanded gaming to begin in the latter half of 2021.

Brian Chamberlain has been appointed as the Executive Director of the new division.

“This is an exciting time for Nebraskans,” said Chamberlain. “Our team is working tirelessly to bring first-class gaming and entertainment to the state. Though there is still a great deal of work to be done, we’re excited for the chance to bring a new industry to the state, and with it, an entirely new source of tax revenue and career opportunities.”
