New dog bar in Lincoln gives dog owners more time with their pets
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Off Leash Dog Bar hosted a soft opening on Friday, giving presale members a chance to try it out before the official opening on Memorial Day.
Dog owners can either just show up with their pups and give it a try, or go through a preregistration process online, where you can make a profile for yourself and your dogs.
The dog bar does require some vaccinations for the dogs but makes it easy, emailing your veterinarian for you.
If you’re not sure how your dog is going to react at the bar, Off Leash offers a day pass with no strings attached.
Owner Brandon Akert hopes the dog bar gives owners a chance to spend more time with their pets away from home.
“Dogs have become more and more like family than they have pets,” he said. “I felt like it was time to have a place where somebody can come out relax and bring their dog with them.”
Akert sa his biggest goal is to create a safe environment for dog owners.
“As long as people are here, happy and safe, I’ve done my part,” he said.
