New ‘heartbreaking’ study reveals racial disparities in neonatal deaths
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Research has found Black babies are about twice as likely to die than White babies before their first birthday.
A new study suggests the disparity is even larger when babies are conceived by forms of assisted reproductive technology.
Research has previously shown that black babies are about twice as likely to die before their first birthday.
Racial disparities were also significantly larger among Asian and Pacific Islander and Hispanic women.
Researchers hope the study will urge people to have a childbirth plan and to continuously consult and follow up with their doctors.
