No ‘Oklahoma!’ at Lied Center after illness among touring company

Those who bought tickets will have them refunded as Lied Center credit

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The show must go on, right? Not for “Oklahoma!” at the Lied Center.

The show was supposed to run Tuesday and Wednesday. But there were several illnesses and injuries, so the touring company decided to cancel the two shows.

“There were people that were going to play roles they had never played before, people that were going to play multiple roles,” Lied Center spokeswoman Lauren Durban said. “I mean, this company really worked so hard to make this show go on. And at some point, they just didn’t have enough people. There just weren’t enough bodies to make it possible. That’s when the decision was made by the ‘Oklahoma!’ production company that there was not going to be a show at the Lied Center either on Tuesday, and then it happened again on Wednesday.”

Durban said those that bought tickets will be compensated by receiving the full amount they paid as Lied Center credit. That credit is good for any show and will not expire.

She said those who want a cash refund need to contact the box office to ask for one.
