Norfolk man arrested for DUI after crashing into ditch and fleeing

NORFOLK, Neb. (KLKN) — On Sept. 24 around 1 a.m., Norfolk Police Department officers arrested a suspect for fleeing from police and driving under the influence.

An officer witnessed an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then ran a red light and crashed into a ditch. The front end of the SUV sustained significant damage.

When the officer approached the vehicle and turned on the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights, the suspect, Treyvon Jennings, 34, drove away at a high rate of speed.

According to NPD, vehicle tracks were found leading to a residence. Jennings was found at the residence and arrested.

Officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Jennings’ breath. He refused a preliminary breath test but provided a sample later. Jennings had a blood alcohol content of 0.203.

Jennings was arrested and lodged for driving during revocation, reckless driving, felony flight to avoid arrest and driving under the influence.
