LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – On Thursday, Norris eighth grade baseball player Bryce Fountain announced his commitment to the University of Nebraska.

“After just talking with their coaches a bunch and building a relationship with them, it’s just a good spot for me to be,” Fountain said.”It’s close to home, my friends, parents and everyone, can just get to come watch me. And it’s a great opportunity.”

Fountain says he’s been a Husker fan for as long as he can remember.

He says he cannot wait for the moment where he will get to run out onto Hawks field for the very first time.

“It’s gonna be amazing,” Fountain said. “I’m gonna get chills and everyone’s just gonna be roaring and because the fans are amazing and it’s a great environment.”

Fountain plays first base, third base, outfield and pitches. He is ranked as the 105th best player in the class of 2026, per Perfect Game, a baseball scouting website.
