Northeast Nebraska teacher accused of sexual relationship with student

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Wayne County teacher has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a student, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday.

Deputies were notified over the weekend of a relationship between a teacher and a student at Winside Public Schools.

After an investigation, deputies arrested 25-year-old Cali Heikes on Sunday.  She has since been released on bail.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation is ongoing.
