NPPD assists Iowa in repairing damage from Derecho

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Tuesday, Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) announced their line technicians will be heading to Iowa to assist in restoration following the storm, Derecho.

They will be assisting Mid-American Energy crews in the Des Moines area, where an estimated 125,000 customers are without power. NPPD crews are going through pre-trip inspections and will leaving later today.

The crew is mad up of 15 line technicians from McCook, Chadron, York, Kearney, Norfolk, Pawnee City, Scottsbluff, South Sioux City, Sutherland and Tekamah.
