NSP: 2 Lincoln men arrested after multi-county pursuit

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two Lincoln men were arrested after allegedly leading authorities on a multi-county pursuit Sunday.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper saw a Chevrolet Blazer with a headlight out south of the Interstate 80 interchange near York around 10:30 p.m.

When the trooper and a York County deputy tried to stop the vehicle, it sped off, according to the patrol.

The pursuit ended near mile marker 366 when Seward County deputies were able to stop the Blazer using stop sticks.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Jessie Shafer, was arrested for felony flight to avoid arrest and numerous drug charges. His passenger, identified as 36-year-old Derrick Phipps was also arrested on drug charges.
