Body of man found in car in a creek near Ashland identified

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) have identified a man found inside a vehicle in a creek near Ashland.
The man is identified as Shawn McWilliams, 50, of Omaha.
The Ford pickup was discovered this morning by a worker mowing in the area.
McWilliams’ vehicle was found in a creek underneath an Interstate 80 bridge near mile marker 422.
The vehicle was not visible to passing traffic on I-80 and is believed to have been there for some time.
At this time, no criminal activity is suspected to be involved in this case. The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are on the scene of a vehicle that was found in a creek with a dead man inside, the Nebraska State Patrol said in a press release.
The vehicle was found Thursday morning in a creek underneath a bridge on I-80 near mile marker 422, the patrol said.
NSP said the vehicle was first spotted by a Nebraska Department of Transportation worker who was mowing in the area.
