Authorities arrested two teenagers after they reportedly led officers on a high-speed chase.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a trooper found a vehicle that had been reported as driving recklessly near mile marker 388 on Interstate 80 around 7:40 p.m. Monday.

The vehicle sped off when the trooper tried to stop it, the patrol said.

The vehicle traveled toward the Air Park area and was later located on Hwy 34 near NW 105th St. before traveling to the area of Holdrege and County Road 210 where the driver lost control. The vehicle came to a rest and the two occupants fled on foot, the patrol said.

After a short search, both occupants – identified as Mohammed Al-Kazahy, 19, of Lincoln, and an 18-year-old male – were arrested on a number of charges including willful reckless driving, felony flight to avoid arrest, and possession of marijuana – less than an ounce. Both were lodged in Lancaster County Jail.
