Authorities arrested a Lincoln man after an aerial pursuit in Lincoln.

The Nebraska State Patrol said 40-year-old Faraen Iron Shell  was driving a motorcycle erratically and splitting vehicles near 33rd and O St. Sunday evening.

Troopers initiated an aerial pursuit of Iron Shell as he reached speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour, the patrol said.

The NSP helicopter followed Iron Shell while directing troopers on the ground to his location. Iron Shell nearly hit a pedestrian as he passed through downtown, the patrol said.

While trying to evade a trooper, Iron Shell lost control and laid his motorcycle down. He was not injured and was immediately taken into custody, the patrol said.

Iron Shell was arrested for felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, traffic violations and expired registration. He was lodged in Lancaster County Jail.
