NSP: Road rage crash near Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KLKN) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) have taken a Colorado man into custody after a road rage crash.

The crash happened on Hwy 92 near Scottsbluff around 5:20 pm Monday.

According to the initial investigation, a Hyundai Santa Fe and Audi A4 were both traveling down the highway when the Audi driver intentionally struck the Hyundai several times. This caused the Hyundai to roll over onto its roof.

NSP and several police agencies responded to the scene. The Audi driver, 31-year-old Fabian Hernandez of Fort Collins was arrested for reckless driving, 2nd-degree assault, and violation of a protection order.

A protection order was previously issued against Hernandez for one of the Hyundai occupants. No serious injuries were reported.
