Authorities arrested an Omaha woman on murder charges after she allegedly shot and killed her husband during an argument on Interstate 80 on Wednesday.

Nebraska State Patrol investigators arrested 31-year-old Kathleen Jourdan for second-degree murder.

Jourdan and her husband, identified as 35-year-old Joshua Jourdan, were involved in an argument while traveling on I-80 near Cozad when he pulled over the vehicle. Kathleen Jourdan then produced a handgun and shot her husband twice, the patrol said.

The couples’ two children were in the backseat of the vehicle and were not injured, the patrol said.

Jourdan called 911 to report the shooting and remained at the scene until multiple law enforcement agencies arrived.

Nebraska State Patrol Investigators have arrested an Omaha woman following a shooting Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 80 near Cozad.

KatThe children are in protective custody. The investigation remains ongoing.
