Officers investigating fatal stabbing near Hastings

HARVARD, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol and the Clay County Sheriff’s office are investigating a fatal stabbing.
According to officials, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call for a stabbing at 503 4th Avenue in Harvard around 8 p.m. Saturday.
Upon arriving, deputies found 30-year-old Kristaff Gonzalez with multiple stab wounds. They attempted to transport him to Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, but he died en route.
Officials say Gonzalez had been involved in a fight, which led to the stabbing.
An unnamed 24-year-old male was on the scene and taken into custody by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, but no charges were filed.
The Nebraska State Patrol is working alongside the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
