Omaha Police safely resolve ‘situation’ that closed Interstate 480 for 8 hours

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The northbound lanes of Interstate 480 through Omaha were closed for nearly eight hours on Friday.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation posted a tweet at 8:27 a.m. announcing the closure.

Omaha Police were on scene handling an unknown situation, which resulted in the closure.
Drivers were also asked to avoid using the westbound lane of Farnam Street, which overlooks the interstate.
In tweet at 5 p.m., Omaha Police said the situation was safely resolved. Nebraska 511 also shows that the interstate has reopened.
Police have yet to say what exactly happened or why the interstate was closed for so long.
