One arrested in overnight homicide in southwest Nebraska, State Patrol says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a homicide that killed a 19-year-old Thursday night in north Imperial.

The Imperial Police Department and Chase County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at a home near the intersection of West State and Broadway Streets.

Law enforcement found a victim with a gunshot wound.

The victim, identified as Jesse Krausnick, 19, was taken to a local hospital but passed away shortly after arriving.

The suspect, 19-year-old Tristan Ferguson, was taken into custody at the scene, the patrol says.

Imperial Police requested help from the patrol to complete the homicide investigation, which is currently ongoing.

Ferguson was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and use of a weapon to commit a felony among other charges.
