One killed in plane crash near Kearney
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person was killed Friday morning in a plane crash east of Kearney.
The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 9:10 a.m. south of Interstate 80.
First responders found the crash site in a field near the east end of Bassway Strip State Wildlife Management Area.
The sheriff’s office said the crash appeared to involve a small single-engine aircraft.
Authorities have yet to identify the occupant who was killed in the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
