One killed in rollover crash on Highway 83 near McCook

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Icy roads were a factor in a fatal rollover crash near McCook on Thursday, the Red Willow County Sheriff’s Department said.

Around 7:20 a.m., first responders arrived at the one-vehicle crash, which happened on Highway 83 northwest of McCook.

The vehicle’s occupant, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

An investigation is ongoing, but the sheriff’s department said icy roads played a factor into the crash.
