One more hot day, then storms move through
The above average temperatures continue into Tuesday. Our average high is 80 degrees.
The dew point will be tolerable, so the humidity, while you may notice it a bit, won’t be oppressive.
Still, dew points in the middle and upper 60s will give us a heat index in the 90s.
Meanwhile, a cold front is lurking and will give us a chance for storms Tuesday night in central and western Nebraska.
With that storm chance we see a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for severe storms in central and parts of western Nebraska.
That storm chance moves east late Tuesday into Wednesday when storms are more likely for the Lincoln area. Storms are likely once again on Thursday.
We cool off quite a bit heading into the weekend, but the low 80s come back next week.
