UPDATE: LPD identifies 19-year-old killed in Monday night crash

Kolby Elliott was identified as the 19-year-old killed in Monday night's crash, another driver was left with minor injuries

UPDATE, 10:16 a.m. – Kolby Elliott was identified as the 19-year-old killed in Monday night’s crash, according to Lincoln Police.

Elliott is reported to have been driving his Nissan north on 70th Street approaching Holdredge, police say.

The other driver involved, George Skorohod, 82, was on 70th in an F150 in the left-hand turn lane, going south.

Witnesses say Elliott entered the intersection at a high rate of speed, veering into the southbound lanes, where he hit the front of George’s vehicle, police say.

Elliott was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were life-threatening, he later died at 10:37 p.m., police say.

Skorohod is reported to have minor injuries from the crash.

An investigation is still open and ongoing.


UPDATE, 1:30 a.m. — LPD has confirmed a 19-year-old man from our area has died following last night’s crash.

Police are also investigating if speed played a role in this wreck involving a silver car and a black pickup truck.


LINCOLN, Neb. — One person suffered very serious injuries Monday in a crash at 70th and Holdrege Streets, and three others had injuries that were not life-threatening.

Two vehicles collided shortly before 9 p.m.

The person with serious injuries had to be extricated from a vehicle.
