Oppressive heat arrives tomorrow 7/26/2021
The new work week is off to a foggy start with low visibility across southeast Nebraska. Spots near the Tri-Cities are currently seeing visibility below 1 mile, so use extra caution during your morning commute. We will see clearing skies throughout the morning and temperatures in the 60s and 70s. As we head into the afternoon, highs will return into the mid-90s with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures really start to heat up tomorrow as highs near the triple digit mark with heat index values making it feel well into the triple digits. Heat Advisories have already been issued for the next few days. Rain and heat relief won’t arrive until late in the week.
- TODAY: Clearing skies into the afternoon with highs back in the low to mid-90s. HIGH: 94
- TUESDAY: Sunny skies and HOT! Heat Advisory goes into effect at 12 PM. High’s soar into the upper 90s with heat index values near 110 degrees. HIGH: 98
- WEDNESDAY: Highs near the triple digits with heat index values close to 110 degrees again. HIGH: 100
- THURSDAY: Another toasty day with highs in the upper 90s and dangerous heat index values. HIGH: 97
- FRIDAY: A tad bit cooler with highs in the low 90s. Isolated chance for rain during the day. HIGH: 92
