Over $7 million donated to local nonprofits on Give to Lincoln Day

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Community members donated over $7 million to hundreds of local nonprofits on Give to Lincoln Day.

According to Give to Lincoln Day’s website, nonprofits received 24,114 donations for $7,408,751.52.

By the end of Wednesday, CEDARS sat atop the leaderboard with $424,267.22 in donations.

Right behind CEDARS is the Food Bank of Lincoln, which received $342,648.13.

Give to Lincoln Day, which is in its 11th year, is coordinated by the Lincoln Community Foundation.

Online donations started pouring in on May 1 for over 450 nonprofits that registered to be a part of the event.

All participating nonprofits also receive a proportion of a $500,000 match fund provided by the Lincoln Community Foundation and other sponsors.
