Zillow reports, government workers affected by the shutdown collectively owe $438 million in mortgage or rent payments this month.

It’s not just them, the Federal Housing Administration has limited staff right now and warns loan endorsements may be delayed–which means some may fall through and aspiring homeowners won’t be approved to buy a home.
