People’s City Mission hosts annual Christmas tree festival

The Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival took place at Gateway Mall.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The People’s City Mission hosted its annual Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival. The event is the nonprofit’s largest community event and fundraiser.

Guests could walk through the mall and look at the top-notch Christmas trees. The trees were created by designers and sponsored by local businesses and churches.

“We have 15 trees here that were exquisitely decorated by professional designers,” People’s City Mission pastor Tom Barber said. “Most of them had about $1,500 worth of decorations on them. People went around, they could look at them and enjoy them. Some people bid on the trees. I think every tree had a bid of some sort.”

There was no in-person auction this year. Guests could bid on the trees online. All the proceeds go to helping the homeless. The People’s City Mission is always looking for donations and hosting events. For more information, you can visit their website.
