Gretna Outlet Mall To Reopen April 24

An online petition seeking to delay the reopening of a Gretna outlet mall has garnered hundreds of signatures.

Select stores at Nebraska Crossing will open to the public on May 1, the mall announced on social media. Operators say health guidelines will be maintained as shoppers return.

A virtual petition has been formed asking Nebraska Crossing to remain closed until state health officials deem it can reopen safely. Governor Pete Ricketts says the state has not asked any businesses to close, and that the mall can reopen so long as it adheres to state directed health measures.

The petition calls for the mall owner, Rod Yates, or Ricketts to keep the stores closed for the time being.

The petition had 500 signatures as of Tuesday morning.
