Pleasant weather lasting through the weekend
The air quality has been improving across the area as of Friday morning. That is a trend that is expected to continue through the remainder of the morning. We’ll still probably have some haze to deal with as there will still be smoke aloft, but the ground-level concentrations will reduce.
It will be on the breezier side of things on Friday. We could see some gusts out of the north upwards of 30 mph at times. The northerly flow will also help keep temperatures cooler. We’re looking at a high in the low-70s in Lincoln, although a few spots may not make it out of the 60s.
We’ll also begin the day with some cloud cover, but that will quickly diminish through the morning. By Friday afternoon, skies will be mostly sunny.
The wind backs off this weekend and sunshine will dominate. Mother Nature will not prevent you from taking part in any outdoor plans. We’ll also progressively warm up over the weekend. We’re looking at highs in the 70s on Saturday and 80s on Sunday.
There aren’t too many rain chances in the immediate future, but that may change toward the end of next week. There is still lots of time for things to change between now and then, but the upper-air pattern does appear to be a bit more unsettled.
