Police cruiser involved in two-vehicle accident

The cruiser has an estimated $3,500 worth of damage.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Just before 8 p.m. on September 11th, a police cruiser was involved in a two-vehicle injury accident at 42nd and Orchard.

A 22 year-old officer was heading northbound on N 42nd street approaching the intersection with Orchard, when a Toyota Camry heading eastbound on Orchard collided in the intersection with the cruiser.

The intersection at 42nd and orchard has no traffic signs or signals.

The Camry continued northbound and collided with a residence of the 1200 block of N 42nd St and also struck a black Ford F150 parked in the driveway.

The Camry was considered a total loss, while the cruiser has an estimated $3,500 worth of damages to the vehicle, and the home had approximately $1,000 worth of damage.

An ambulance took the officer to a local hospital due to an arm injury, and has since been released.
